2. CLOSING DATE:
The last date of receipt of application form will be 26.12.2009. Applications received thereafter will not be entertained.
3. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:
- NATIONALITY:
Applicant should be a bonafide citizen of India.
- EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
Should have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized
university at the time of filling up of application form.
- AGE:
AGE (MALE CANDIDATE): 20 to 25 years as on 01.07.2009, i.e. those born not earlier
than 02.07.1984 and not later than 01.07.1989 will be eligible. The upper age limit as
prescribed above will be relaxable only in the following cases :-
- Upto a maximum of 05 years, if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe category.
- Upto a maximum of 3 years, if a candidate belongs to an OBC category. This relaxation is admissible for
those castes notified in the Central List and the List issued by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi. No other
certificate will be accepted as sufficient proof.
- Age concession to Ex-Servicemen will be allowed in accordance with the orders issued by the government
from time to time. They will be permitted to deduct the period served in the armed forces from their actual
age and the resultant age, so derived, should not exceed the prescribed age limit by more than three
years. It is further clarified that an “Ex-Serviceman” means a person, who has served in any rank whether
as a combatant or non-combatant in Army, Navy or Air Force of the Indian Union and who retired from
such service after earning his pension.
- Relaxation in the upper age limit is admissible upto 40 years (43 years for OBC, 45 years for SCs/STs) for
departmental candidates of Delhi Police.
A “departmental candidate” means a Constable, Head Constable
or a Asstt. Sub-Inspector enlisted in Delhi Police with a minimum of 5 years service and who otherwise
fulfills all other qualifications.
- Upto a maximum of 5 years for sportsmen of distinction who have represented a state at the national level
and the country at the international level in sports. The discipline of sports for which relaxation is
permissible as per table given below. If a candidate belongs to SC/ST category and fulfills the above
criteria, he is eligible for 5 years relaxation in upper age limit over and above the relaxation prescribed at
Clause 3(c)(i). In effect, he qualifies for relaxation in the upper age limit to a maximum of 10 years.
AGE (FEMALE CANDIDATE): 20 to 25 years as on 01.07.2009, i.e. those born not earlier than
02.07.1984 and not later than 01.07.1989 will be eligible. The upper age limit as prescribed above will be
relaxable only in the following cases :-
- Upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a
Scheduled Tribe category, widows/ divorced women/judicially separated women who are not re-married;
and for sportswomen of distinction who have represented a state at the national level and the country at
the international level in sports. The discipline of sports for which relaxation is permissible as per table
given below. If a candidate
belongs to SC/ST category and falls in the category of sportswoman as above, she is eligible for 5 years relaxation in upper age limit over and above the relaxation prescribed above. In effect, she qualifies for relaxation in the upper age limit to a maximum of 10 years.
- Upto a maximum of 3 years, if a candidate belongs to an OBC category. This relaxation is admissible for

4. STANDARD OF PHYSICAL MEASUREMENT
MALE CANDIDATE :-
- HEIGHT: Minimum 170 cms,
Relaxable by 5 cms for residents of hill areas i.e. Garhwalis, Kumaonis,
Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to states of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunanchal Pradesh,
Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh & Ladakh regions of
J&K (Candidates claiming this relaxation would have to produce a certificate to this effect (Hill area
certificate) from the competent authority i.e. DC/DM/SDM or Tehsildar of their place of residence at the
time of Physical Measurement Test)
- CHEST: Minimum 81 cms to 85 cms, relaxable by 5 cms for residents of hill areas for which certificate as
above will be produced.
Note:- The candidate is required to have minimum 81 cms chest in an unexpanded state and with expansion, it
should be minimum 85 cms. For all candidates minimum expansion has to be 4 cms., failing which he will
be disqualified).
FEMALE CANDIDATE :-
HEIGHT: Minimum 157 cms, relaxable by 5 cms for:-
- Residents of hill areas i.e. Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to

9. C) PHYSICAL MEASUREMENTS (QUALIFYING)
The candidates who qualify the physical endurance tests will undergo physical measurement immediately.
In the physical measurement i.e. height and chest for male candidates and only height for female
candidates would be measured. The candidates who are not satisfied with the decision of the physical
measurement board regarding their height and chest measurements, they can appeal immediately after
their PE & MT on the same day before the Appellate Board.
10. CHECKING OF ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES/ DOCUMENTS:
-
All the candidates are required to bring their original documents/certificates at the time of PE&MT,
pertaining to age, education, caste, hill areas, NOC/discharge certificate (in case of Ex-servicemen), NCC
(if any), sports certificate and proof of widow/divorced/judicially separated woman for the candidates
seeking age relaxation alongwith their attested photo copies of all the documents/certificates. Caste
certificate should be on the prescribed format issued by the competent authority empowered for the
purpose. No other certificate will be accepted as proof of the claim.
- Original certificates (of all the candidates declared successful in PE&MT) pertaining to age, education,
caste, category, NCC, Ex-servicemen, Sports and proof of widow/divorced/ judicially separated woman etc
will be checked at the time of issuance of Admission card for written examination.
- Candidates seeking age relaxation on sports basis must note that the Sports Certificates should be of the
issuing Federation conducting the National/International Championship should be affiliated with Indian
Olympic Association.
11. WRITTEN TEST:
All candidates, who qualify the physical endurance & measurement tests, shall be put through a written test of three
(03) hours duration which will carry 200 marks. The question paper will be of objective type and will include
questions on Reasoning, General Knowledge/Current Affairs, Numerical Ability and English for 70, 50, 30 and 50
marks respectively. The question for written examination in Reasoning, General Knowledge/Current Affairs and
Numerical Ability will be bilingual (English and Hindi).
12. ADDITIONAL BONUS MARKS:
| (a) 3 bonus marks will be given to candidates who measure 178 cms. height or above for
male candidates and 165 cms. height or above for female candidates.

| (b) 1 mark for NCC 'B' certificate; |
Maximum bonus marks for NCC certificate shall not exceed 2 marks. This benefit will only be given on production
of the original certificate. This benefit is not applicable to ex-servicemen.

14. INFORMATION CENTRES:
Three Information Centers shall be opened at the following locations to answers the queries of the applicant
regarding filling up of the application form:-
(i) PTS/Wazirabad, Delhi.
(ii) PTC/Jharoda Kalan, New Delhi.
(iii) PTS/Malviya Nagar, New Delhi.
15. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
- Application forms will be rejected if they are:-
- Incomplete
- Without Demand/Bank Draft /banker's cheque of Rs. 100/-
- Received in duplicate
- Without attested copy of certificate in case of SC/ST/
Ex-Servicemen for fee exemption.
- Without photograph.
- Application form not signed by the candidate.
- If there is any variation in the interpretation of words/ instructions, the English version will prevail and the
decision of Police Headquarters will be final.
- Candidates already working with Govt. can apply after intimating to their Head of Office/Department and
need not send another copy through proper channel. An undertaking to this effect may be enclosed with
the application form. They will have to provide N.O.C. from their department at the time of Interview.
- If ineligibility of a candidate is detected at any stage, his/her candidature will be cancelled without any
prior notice.
- The candidate must be sure of his/her height, chest and educational qualification, which should conform to
the minimum standards laid down.
- Any change in the schedule already announced would be displayed on the notice board of the
DCP/Recruitment Cell, New Police Lines, Kingsway Camp, Delhi and on “Notice Board” available on the
website www.delhipolicerecruitment.nic.in.
- Candidate should mention his/her Roll No./Registration No. on the application while making any
correspondence with the DCP/Recruitment Cell. It should be addressed to the following: DCP/
